Freelancer of the Year

For independent marketers paving the way

Nominations are now open

This award celebrates the independent marketers carving out their own path. Whether they’re a one-person powerhouse or a specialist collaborator, this is for the freelancers delivering brilliant results, building client trust, and proving that working solo can be just as impactful as working in-house or in an agency.

What the judges are looking for:

  • What makes this freelancer exceptional in the way they operate, position themselves and deliver independent work?

  • Provide specific examples that demonstrate the measurable value this freelancer has delivered to clients.

  • How does this freelancer’s professionalism, creativity and approach differentiate them from others operating at a similar level?

Ginger Pickle: an integrated marketing agency based in Norwich

We’re seasoned professionals with a wealth of experience, so while we may be relatively new as an agency, we’re certainly no strangers to driving business growth through marketing.

Everything we do starts with you. We want to learn more about your brand, the challenges you face as a business, and what you want to achieve (in both the long and short term).

Entry Details

To be eligible, nominees should:

  • Be based in or working within East Anglia.

  • Be working primarily as an independent freelancer (sole trader, limited company, or self-employed).

  • Deliver marketing services directly to clients (strategy, design, copy, digital, social, PR, branding, or similar).

  • Demonstrate clear results, client impact, or growth achieved on their own terms.

The judges will be presented with the shortlist of nominees and will mark each nomination out of 25.

There are 3 key questions in stage 3 of the nomination form; each of these hold equal weighting and will be marked out of 7 points.

Each nomination form offers the chance to add testimonials or additional evidence – there are 4 extra points that can be awarded for these, based on the individual judge’s discretion.
